Founded in 1677, the City has for almost 330 years cultivated a legacy of civilized growth as the cornerstone of West Jersey.Every day the City grows more beautiful in restoration. Grant, Capt. James “Don’t Give Up the Ship” Lawrence, and author James Fenimore Cooper. Our City was once the Capital of West Jersey, and the third largest port in the New World.
